Turn Signal Flash Rate
 

All four turn signals work but at twice the normal rate when signaling to turn but flash at a normal rate when using the hazard lights? Might this narrow it down to bulbs, relay, short? 86 Euro Carrera. Thanks.

If they didn't flash at normal rate when using the hazards, I would say that it's a bulb issue - try removing the bulb and cleaning the contacts and then re-installing, it may fix the problem. Other members should chime in as well for this one.

If someone replaced either front or rear set with LEDs, you get simiral results.

Turn signals.
 

Open turn signal bulb filament, or bad bulb to socket connection.

Clean as per host comment.

Been through this. Ideally, all bulbs are not only from the same manufacturer, but the same manufacturing lot. Replace all bulbs, noting that you have solid grounds on the bulbs, and also on the chassis. When I did this I removed the entire light assembly and buttoned it all back up using bathroom caulk in lieu of the putty you will typically find.

If the relay isn't getting the right resistance, it will hyper flash. This could be

1. LEDs in one or more sockets
2. A bad ground
3. A bad bulb

Check the above and you should find your issue...

Good call 76FJ55. The fronts are new with LEDS. I just don't understand why they flash normally with the hazard switch. Is there a easy fix to this short of replacing the units?

If you had originally said you replaced the bulbs with LEDs you would have got the answer sooner.
Either use LEDs with load resistors to simulate regular bulbs or replace the flasher with an LED capable unit.

Resistors maybe, but I am not an electrician.

How much resistance from a regular bulb, minus the resistance of the LED bulb, Solder that delta resistor in the front lines.

Some more "just talking". I bet the 4 way is blinking just a touch faster than normal.

I think the relays are a function of heat. Like a toaster, right?

What a resistor will do to LED lights, I don't know.

I do know they are cheap and a friend of a friend has used them to dummy down downstream O2 sensor results with decent success.

The hazards flash all bulbs. They work because the flasher sees two regular bulbs as well as two LEDs. The LEDs alone don't draw enough current...almost like no bulb at all.
Simplest fix is to replace the flasher with one made for LEDs, doesn't depend on current, however it may not worn you about burnt out bulbs.
