Anyone have 996GT3 Seats in their Car?

Anyone with an air-cooled have the alien GT3 seats in their car? Seriously considering this and would like to see if it works.

I had my GT3 seats in my 993. It was a direct bolt on with the sliders/brackets. But I believe the 911's are a bit different. I got my GT3 seats new from the factory in 2006, and have had then in 5 different cars! My 996, then a Maserati GT Spyder (was a direct bolt on...!!!), then my 993, then my 986 and finally my 987.2. They are the best seats I have ever had in any car!!!

Yea - I am curious what they will look like - I am torn between 996GT3 seats, regular sport buckets and the RS style classic buckets.

i had a replica seat in my 914. Really liked it. Comfortable, decent angle and tons of lateral support. Been considering a Boxster and would like a pair in that if it happens to end up in my driveway.

Thanks for the data point - my concern is that they are too modern for these cars. Have some time to decide.

Check out GTS Classics seats. They have as set called the Vallelunga (SP?) that offer similar lower and shoulder support as a Pole Position or GT3 seat but much more vintage head rest.

Another option is a 935 Lollipop style seat. Though in most cases you have to have narrow hips to fit one of these.

I have a genuine set in my car and love them! My car is an '89 3.2

When I first bought them, I used the factory side brackets and some Recaro sliders. I had to re-drill the sliders to match the brackets, but from there they bolted right in. I did find that the seat was a little too high using this set up - at least for me, especially with a helmet on.

I then bought the Brey-Krause side brackets which allow the seat to mount a little lower and have some adjustability in the tilt of the seat. With those I think they are perfect. I'll look for some pics.
