Change in server settings, does it seem faster?

I ran a tuning 'wizard' on the server that suggested I make a few more changes to things like TCP/IP buffers, etc.

Anyone notice a difference? I think I do...

Never noticed, I always thought it was quite fast!
BTW, thanks for the great board, I've learned and continue to learn lots!
Regards,
Gary.

it seems quicker this morning, but I am on a 300kbs connection. It loads so quick that I don't even see the images load, they are there as fast as the page comes up. Nice!

This forum is one of the fastest i know, my compliments Wayne. I noticed some slowdown on monday and tuesday, but i,m in Europe so maybe it was my connection. Today its running like a Porsche for me :D

btw i can,t post an image on the Europe forum Wayne  it only show the url.

Cheers,

Ed

It's actually rendering pages when I think about them, before I even click on 'em!

Amazing what can be done with TCP/IP/ESP. ;)

Yep on a 56k dial up

I've noticed that it's gotten better as well.. but what's the server load like right now?..I think 11 est is fairly light time for server loading

All you need now is a few more people on the phones there so I'm not stuck on indefinite hold...20+ minutes one day...

Don Plumley 02-07-2003 08:00 AM

Yes, it is snappier.

tobluforu 02-07-2003 09:02 AM

Yes!

We've hired a bunch of people, and we're getting a new ACD phone system on Monday. No one waits on hold for that long, unless there is a problem with the phone system (which we have been having lately). Sorry about that - it's a technology breakdown, and I'm working hard to fix it. This new phone system has cost us BIG BUCKS (much more than this BBS server) - I hope it's worth it...

P.S. For those who are in the know, we upgraded to a Fiber MICS unit with dual NAMs running NVM 4.04E and Prelude - each on their own NAM.

It is faster, I thought I was imagining things until I saw this thread.

You rock, Wayne.

Dutchie 02-07-2003 10:53 PM

Wayne ACD is the best system i,ve seen around and i programmed pabx,s for 3 years. Be sure to tune it weekly in the beginning and you will have a system that will work for you. The afterworktimes are very imporatant in an ACD Wayne we give them 1 minute for that on my job. Good luck with it :)

Looks about the same for me. I'm on broadband.

john70t 02-08-2003 12:49 AM

56k here. Definitly faster than most of the web. Nice.
