LED Lighting... again...

I do a lot of night based track sessions. There is lighting on track, but my headlights are always so weak. I was looking at these for a test:

Yes they are from China and they don't particularity look great... Thoughts?

You're gonna get what you pay for with these. I would not trust my headlights to an unknown. JW Speaker, Truck Lite, and a few others make excellent 7" round LED and HID headlights that are used in a few OEM applications (Harley Davidson for one, possible Jeep but I'm not sure).

I would probably stick with halogens unless all of these were true:

1) You already have H4 or H1 housings in good condition.
2) You're using 100/55w or 100/80w bulbs from Philips, Osram, or Flösser...maybe Sylvania.
3) You have headlight relays installed.

Have you thought about one of those LED light bars for trucks?

Plenty of choices, size outputs, cheap.

I think it will be the evolution of the early rally light pods.

I thought about the light bar. It would fit well in the front bumper. I have one of those RSR style bumpers so I could put it in the front center cutout. This 7" light just seemed like all I have to do is drop it in. *shrug* I've tried a bunch of this kind of cheap ***** before. Most of them failed as expected, but some worked out really well.

Or you could drop a grand plus on J.W. Speakers. Am still in shock looking at their prices, but it might be different if I ran the car in enduros or Paris Dakar or after dark.
