New member from the Netherlands

Hello Pelican Crew.

I would like to introduce myself as a new member to this fantastic community. My name is Rico and I am from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I have been lurking this board for quite some years but never signed up until recently. Currently I have 2 Minerva Blue 911's.

After buying my first car I have met a fantastic group of nice people after some Porsche Meetings and made good friends.

I have done a few simple modifications/ repairs to the car myself but for the majority have sent it to a very capable mechanic…but as with all things the bills are adding up so I definitely plan to do a lot more work myself and believe I can learn a lot from this community.

1. a 911S from 1977 (my birth year) which was originally a Californian Car which I have purchased in 2014. It has the SC flares and for the rest quite original I believe. The engine and transmission are in fantastic shape and I absolutely love this car with the high revving engine characteristics. 2 years ago I have upgraded the suspension to RS specs and installed the SSI heat exchangers and a nice Dasnk double exhaust. It is now a blast to drive. This car I take out as much as possible when to weather in Holland allows and I also take it out on the track when my schedule allows. Future updates would be to add some sports seats (Sparco’s or Recaro) and get me some semi-slicks to improve my lap times. A roll cage I am not sure yet since I also like to bring my kids along for a ride

The car had a Californian blue plate (380 UDU) when I purchased it and unfortunately came without any history. I did notice a window sticker from Lomita 911 so believe it’s from LA. If anyone recognizes this car and could point me to some previous owners that would be really cool.

When I bought it:

Current status:

2. My second baby is a quite rare 1976 Carrera 3.0 originally delivered in Switzerland which is a blast to drive (200 HP) and has been restored cosmetically (new paint, interior redone) but had some serious mechanical issues when I bought it. The complete CIS system has been redone the last months and I am now searching for some interior parts to get it 100%. The engine running quite hot though so that needs to be solved and its consuming a lot of oil (3 quarts per 600 miles!!) I hope this can be solved without a complete overhaul of the engine. But I have plenty of time for this baby to get it solved. This one I just use occasionally. Alse here unfortunately not much history provided except a few previous Swiss invoices. I tracked down one of the previous owners last week so that was very nice. He was also happy to find out that his old car was still alive. I told him there are no old Porsches, just new owners 

After finding some nice 15"8-9J Fuchs..nevermind the ride height..it was lowered with and provided with some nice Billsteins after this.

Thanks for your time and I hope that I can meet new friends here as well, learn a lot and hopefully in the future are able to provide assistance myself.

Regards Rico

Beautiful cars. They aren't so bad to work on, as long as you are willing to not be in a hurry and take good advice. Welcome!
