Crimped the line at brake reservoir
While flushing brake fluid today with a power bleeder, I crimped off the wrong line from the reservoir, dumping about a liter of brake fluid on the floor. Convinced I was crimping the correct overflow line, and that I just hadn't managed to seal it, I squeezed it harder. Then I realised my mistake, crimped the correct line, and did the job I was supposed to do.
Now I'm a little concerned I may have squashed the bigger, blue braided line. I don't think I've damaged it, but unsure. I'm now curious how critical that line is and what it's purpose is. And how much of a pain it is to swap. Unsure where it goes once it goes into the trunk floor. |

I would replace the hose. BF is nasty **** , loss of braking too.
Having said that, I don't think either line were designed to be crimped. |

I'm assuming you have an 87-89 with a G50 trans. If so, the blue line is hydraulic fluid for the clutch. The brakes and clutch share a common reservoir.

That helps. Will watch it for any signs of failure. It's the fatter blue line yes.
