1973 Rear Rubber Bumper Guard Shape...are all the same?

My '73 Targa came with 2 distinctly different rear rubber bumper guards. Does anyone know if Porsche changed the angle of the horizontal and vertical parts during the 1 year that they were used. I have not found any documentation or postings online on this. Would like to clarity if anyone is well known with the 73 cars.

As you can see from the picture notice the difference angles on the left and right side. I will try to post better pictures.

Left side drops down more and the upright section also leans in more than the right side.

There is only one style of rubber bumper for the later 1973 911's. They are specific to front and rear, left and right. The problem you have is probably due to either rusted or bent sheet metal.
You should remove the rubber bumpers and check the rear bumper and the rubber bumpers internal metal.

YES....the rear "bumperettes" as they are called are identical in shape for both sides. I cannot tell what happened to yours regarding the odd shape. I own a 1973.5T and they are the same. Google the "bumperettes" on the 1973 Porsche 911T and you will see the images.

Try Ebay or the parts for sale here on PP for decent used replacements

Structurally they feel very solid. The upper and lower mounting holes line up perfect with the bumper. I don't feel any metal fatigue.

Still puzzled.

Try swapping them?

Do the ones in the front look better?
They are different front to back. Maybe you got to front sets instead of a front & rear?
I assume you tried left and right switch?
Just a thought. Good luck.
