86 Carrera - need tool kit info

I would appreciate if someone could post a known correct tool kit for an 86 Carrera before I spend money on something that is missing items or has incorrect tools. I understand that there is likely a span of years where the tools were the same, but noted in looking in past FOR SALE kits that most of the tool rolls/bags had a small tag stapled to the outside of them...sometimes white, sometimes, red, etc. Perhaps that indicates the year?? Related to this, I am also seeking information on the correct TIRE AIR COMPRESSOR kit. I see some that are oranges or white in color with cardboard boxes, and then the later style black plastic box kits like I had in some 993s that I previously owned. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

For my '84 I compiled these examples trying to complete my set with correct tools. Took me several yrs to find and buy the correct tools and some were expensive and I still dont have the correct bag with the yellow tag.

Here is a link to a post I made as I prepared my 88 3.2 Carrera for Porsche Parade 2017. I won Preservation class where having all the right stuff matters. Tool kit and accessories should be the same between 86 and 88. The air compressor should be the black plastic case for 86 UNLESS your car is either a ROW or Tourist delivery in which case it would have the orange unit.

Hope that helps!

I have had good luck with an ultrasonic gun parts cleaner.

Thank you guys for the replies and most helpful photos....exactly what I was looking for. One follow up please - re the photo with the 'yellow tag' - is the yellow specific to a specific year - or range of years?

there is some debate about the significance of the tag but the generally accepted theory is that the tag delineates the model the tool kit was for. For example 911 coupe, 930, etc. I think in reality the tool bags got so mixed around at the dealerships when new its hard to establish a hard and fast rule regarding the tag. What is clear is that there are some differences depending on the model, so the key is knowing what tools came in your particular model and get that right and on the bag just make sure its the correct style for that given year. Hope that helps.
