Brake bias, how to calculate ?

How do you calculate the brake bias ?

Do you only consider the area of the caliper pistons ?

or do you take in consideration all the components of the brake system ?

Take a look at the link below to an earlier thread where this is discussed. Hope this helps you a bit.

the biggest factor is the the total piston size front / total piston size in back this is the hydraulic bias ratio.

then factor the effective radius of the rotors, which is the distance from the axle center line to the piston center-line arc, this is almost always different f/r even when the rotors have the same radius

then factor the effect of different pad Mu front vs rear(if any)

other almost negligible factors are the weight of all the rotating components the effect of brake line size and rigidity, the effect of component rigidity and the net tire OD

Bill,
Thanks for your answer.
Pad size has something to do ?

No, pads sizes affects pad and rotor longevity and to a lesser extent feel
