Please help! Looking for a home in Tampa
A few years ago I rebuilt my 911 SC engine into what you see below:
It runs with a Electromotive TEC-3r engine management system - Top end:Individual throttle body kit - dual plug - TEC-3r [9007-04] - $7,595.00 : Clewett Engineering, The complete solution for ignition & fuel injection We are stationed at MacDill AFB, and during our time here in the Tampa Area, I have taken it to a couple of places, Chilly's being one, for service...(not a great experience there.) So am searching for a home and a shop that can handle such a build. I need a place that can tune a system like this. I did reach out to Heritage, but his quote seemed ridiculously high - He said it would take at least 3k to check out the tuning and adjust it. I have yet to see another system like mine on here, so I am seeking out anyone that can give me advice on it's maintenance. I am also seeking out any information on what shops in the Tampa/St. Pete, Sarasota - etc. area has the knowledge and ability to work on this system. Thanks ahead for anyone that can help!

Do you have the tune file? If not, the tuner has to start from scratch. That’s expensive. If this is the case, ship your unit to electromotive and they can extract the tune.

Great looking engine compartment.
This is NOT rocket science. An person with some experience can extrapolate many of the essential settings just by firing up the computer while the motor is running and making subtle changes to zero in on the basics. First thing you do is to determine whether your tec3r can be upgraded to Wintec4 software which is far superior than the earlier version. Get your serial number and check with Electromotive. Some can take the new firmware, earlier units need an upgrade by Eletromotive. Wintec4 has some neat tricks to help you auto tune with pretty good results. Talk to Richard Clewett. He offers remote tuning services- you in your car on your cel and Richard in control of your lap top thru TeamViewer. A couple of hours with him will get you going so the motor runs reasonably well. You will also learn how to tune just by observing him on your laptop. You can tweek further yourself and with the auto tune feature. Hope this helps. Johan
