idles at 1800...
'74 Carrera...Drove the Carrera this AM. I think it starts a bit slow (cranks fine, just won’t fire up immediately, like a well primed carb would), but I don’t want to be pushin’ on the throttle, even tho' a previous owner put in an air box pop-off valve. Ran great, but both yesterday AM and this AM, when I got to work to park (did have a few stop lights before parking) the idle wouldn’t drop below 1800. Not so yesterday afternoon when I went home. If you restart the car, then and there, the idle is at 1k, as it should be. When stopped at the lights, it idled normally. Just got the car on BaT. thanx. s

Throttle not closing completely. Mine did that. Added an extra spring to close the throttle.
Check the carpet under the accelerator too... |

thanx. i need to get in the engine compartment when this occurs and see if moving the throttle rod makes a difference. just tryin' to see where to start. thanx. sgh
