1972 915 clutch end seal
if the only thing I need to replaces are seals and gaskets on a 1972 915 transmission will i need any special tools to dissassemble and re-asssemble.
If i need the tools is there a list of which ones i need to obtain? I prefer to buy the tools and do things myself and then i have the tool and i learned something.

Yes. Spend some time searching. There are a number of threads. Many of the tools can be made or created by re-purposing used parts.

If you plan to keep the car for a while, you could consider having the case modified so you won't have to tear into it again the next time the seal needs to be replaced:
