Rear crossmember is welded in. Pretty happy how it turned out

Trimmed the passenger side fender to butt weld it

So excited about this one. Lots of pushing around on things today to do the final square up on the roof and rear quarters today. All the metal to complete the shell is here now!! Removed all the porta power stuff set all the panels on one last time. Everything is lined up and gapped good. Just sitting there with assistance anywhere now. Just got to burn everything in. Ready to weld everything up now.

Scored a few more missing items

The wiring harness from the front fuse box all the way back to the engine compatment was removed long ago.

I found a complete correct 912E wiring harness front to back with rear panel

Also got the correct color complete with ashtray knee pads

Baby steps one piece at a time

Like what you are doing, great find on the car even if damaged, what are your plans for the T4 motor, would be nice to see you give it some hp boost and it makes these cars a fun drive, yes a six is nice but its not just the motor to deal with its all the other stuff to do the conversion....really mounts up $$ wise.
Enjoyed reading keep up the good work, cheers.

Thanks a lot guys

Plan on keeping with the T4 motor. And I also plan to boost up the HP on it and add a turbo. Nothing crazy but a bit more added fun

Made the decision to go a different way.

Iíve always been a 964 fan and with this being a wreck 912E I decided To do what I actually want.

Bought a set of 964 donor rear sections and going to build the car I always wanted. Need to sell my Fuchs now as that obviously wonít work with the rear fenders. I pick up my complete 964 front and rear and side rockers next weekend.

I also welded the passenger side quarter on!

Probably not gonna make friends doing this. But honestly donít care. lol 👊🏻 My car my money 😁😁😁

I've had two 964's and loved them, but trying to "make' one from an earlier car ends up badly most of the time.. but it's his car! Just look at resale of fake 964's, never goes well.

True, but is Porsche going to be adding to the original production of 2,017 cars anytime soon?

No Porsche isnt going to be adding to the production

But this was a car that was discarded due to a huge wreck. The rear was completely smashed. Tub was twisted. That said this particular car will NEVER be worth what a good 912E will be that’s never been in a wreck. When you go to buy a Porsche the first thing that makes anyone walk away is when they find out it was completely smashed.

And as much as I’ve replaced it can be done again if for some crazy reason it ends up being a $200,000 car in 50 years

It’s just metal

If youíre putting such ginormous wheel tubs on it, might as well go all out and swap in a Chevy LS or something to go with those wheel tubs.

Something just ainít right about a little 4 cylinder and huge tires.

Lol they are only SC fender. Only 2” over stock. I’m not making a RWB out of it!

It's your car, mold it into whatever you want and don't worry about it!
