need help fixing my eff up

in an attempt to clean my engine compartment i thought i'd try something new... Castrol purple...well i sprayed it on a warm engine and then drove 1/2 mile to car wash but the damage is done. My intake manifold, a/c compressor, etc. now look old & dark grey. wd40 helped bring back some of the cad plated pieces but my question is there a product that can/will restore the brightness to the aluminum or am i **ucked? i don't want to pull the intake manifold to bead blast...do i have any other options? Tia.

Agreed, plating and aluminum has been etched by the alkaline base in the cleaner. Great stuff for cleaning the engine compartment but it cannot be allowed to dry and should be diluted or the results that you are experiencing will occur.

Sorry to hear about it.
