Sporto Redline?
Hello Everyone,
My friend owns a 1977 2.7S that has a 4 Speed sportomatic gearbox. He tells me that 5000 RPM is all he can get out of it in 2nd 3rd and top. Is this normal?? My old 74 with a 2.7S used to redline ( To the rev limiter in the rotor button) in all 5 gears (915 trans) Well, personally did the first four on my way to 145MPH indicated. He says it's quite spirited all the way to 5000 but won't climb much above that. We've done the mixture and timing. is there something wrong or is this normal for the Sportomatics? Cheers, Frank
