Need help-removing/installing G50 clutch rod

How does one remove & then install the clutch rod to the clutch pedal? 1988 Carrera

Just disassembled my pedal cluster & noticed my clutch rod was cracked

How do I remove the rod from the pedal? How do I install a new rod? Is it a press fit?

Thanks in advance.

It’s probably a complete unit but it’s not. Check PET for drawing
Rod number. 911.423.216.06

Thanks Bruce. I ordered the rod & it is separate. Just don't know how to separate. The closest roll pin to the pedal( there are three) doesn't secure the rod to the pedal.

Put some heat on it. But then I don’t think it’s press fit

Correction-The closest roll pin to the pedal( there are three) DOES secure the rod to the pedal.

I sprayed penetrating oil to the rod & with a vise grip, was able to move it side to side closing the hole where the pin goes in. Tried tapping the pedal w/ a hammer while holding the shaft but it didn't move a bit. Didn't want to deform the pedal so I stopped.

In a pedal cluster thread 4 years ago, a pelican Chuck.H mentioned that he had a cracked rod so I emailed him for help.

It is a press fit. Just punched it out. The roll pin is the only thing keeping the shaft & pedal together and aligned.
