Special Wishes Car?
Morning all,
Newbie here with a question or two. I have a 1974 914 that we really enjoy, but the question is about my friend's 911SC. Long story, but his sister married an older guy, he passed away a dozen years ago leaving behind a 1982 SC but no paperwork for it. I went down yesterday and hauled it back to John's house where we will try to get it running again, researching new Titles. I was told this car may have a "Special Wishes" interior, can you enlighten me on that? Anything else I should know about this car, suggestions for pre-oiling etc. are appreciated. It has 81,000 miles on it. Dan ![]() ![]() |

I don't know the answer to your question but meantime will just pipe in and say welcome and what a "special" interior it looks like to me - and in great condition as well given 35 yrs old. Has someone been maintaining it all along? Was it driven onto the trailer, or pushed on? If it has not been maintained, there are many posts here giving info about what should be done before starting it up - draining fuel tank, etc. Great looking car!
John could as well contact Porsche for a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) which would identify the original options on the car.

Welcome! Very cool interior. Great color combo. Could very well be a special wishes. We have an ‘82 Targa as well. Check the underside of the hood as the factory put an sticker identifying the options. Not sure exactlywhat year they began that. Our ‘82 doesn’t have one but we had an ‘83 that did. Ordering a COA from Porsche “should” tell you - BUT - they are known for not always being correct.

Looks like a standard interior with the seat piping option specified (for a modest upcharge). Piping in a contrasting color would have been checked (pick your color) when the car was ordered through the normal process by the dealer.
Special Wishes program was barely an entity during this period. Nice color combination. Good luck. |
