injector and MFI check valve cleaning tip
i have a 1 liter ultrasonic cleaner. it worked decent on parts but tried to clean injectors with various cleaners, and mixes to no avail.
But after many attempts, i found a solution that worked for me. Fill the utrasonic with tap water to a point where the water will cover the parts..do not fill it to the top. let the ultrasonic run for 10 minutes with nothing in it. You should be able to see the water dancing after 10 minutes. i put six injectors and the check valve into a baggie that can be sealed. i used a quart baggie . i filled the baggy with simple green so it would just cover the parts and sealed the bag. put the parts in the ultrasonic and set for 30 minutes, if you have a heater set it to 60C. after 15 minutes i emptied the simple green from the baggie and put in a new quantity. all i can say is that i wished i took some pictures as they look new and internally they seem very clean. on another note i picked up one of those diesel injector testers that you pump by hand. They have a 6000 psi gauge so i bought one that is 300 psi. Will diesel fuel be ok to test them? i will not use gasoline but wondering if some other liquid would be a good test liquid that is not volatile. |
I think kerosene is reasonably safe and similar viscosity to petrol.
