'77 hot start issue and idle creep

Recently rebuilt and tuned, fuel system is brand new from tank to injectors. Permatune box went up and mechanic claimed the brand new CDI+ was broken and the car needed a "real" Porsche part. Got the car towed out of the shop and home, turns out the CDI+ didnt like the points being worn out and smashed together at 0 gap.

New points, properly gapped and dwell set, ignition on the CDI+ timed to 0deg @ 950, no vacuum retard hooked up and the line is plugged. Car starts instantly cold, runs beautifully, smooth and powerful, no hesitation. But the idle hunts just a little bit once warm at first. Coming off the highway, fully warmed up, the idle hangs up around 2000 for some reason.

Parked for about 30 min, engine cranks, starts but immediately shuts off. Give it a little throttle and the engine stays running. Opened the throttle bypass some and the engine started right up, ran like before, idle crept up after a highway run but not after local driving.

Got home, car was idling at 2000 rpms again, dialed the bypass back down, rechecked dwell and timing and all is where it should be.

Im a bit unsure of what is going on, the car almost seems to want a hand throttle like the earlier CIS cars.

Haha, same thing happened to me! The small steel clip is missing on my AAR connector so it kept coming off. Have zip tied the cable to the intake runner for now so it can't move.

hunting is too rich.

I use to set my mixture so it was just on the edge of wanting to hunt. once I got an LM and check it I found I was setting the mixture correctly.

if the idle still hangs check the DV, or remove it,. I never liked the idle holding between shifts
