re: rear drop link bushes... someone has done this before....

Thanks all who advised re the front anti-roll bushes (recent posting) - I have done this now... My new rear drop link bushes (Nylon) arrived today and this is the next job. I did this once already but had so much trouble getting the new bushes into the droplinks that they must have become deformed in some way and the car failed it's MOT due to play in them - I really did kick the *&^* out of them tying to get them in) - there must be an easier way.

So.. the question is - who has fitted - or successfully fits these nylon bushes - ir's for the rear drop links on the anti-roll bar of a '75 2.7..

Any help most welcome and appreciated...

Hi TSwede,

I replaced mine this summer. I lubed the bushing and bracked with spray lithium grease, put the bracket on a 2x4 (small piece), the bushing on the bracket, got another piece of 2x4 and layed this on the bushing. I tried using a mallet to drive the bushing in place. A vise worked better. I squeezed the bushing into place. I had to guide the bushing a bit with a screwdriver.

Hope this works for you,

Troy
