Still Thinking....What About This??
Trying to resurrect a heater....about to give last rites to the rear heater motor and had a thought. I was looking at heater motors on ebay...and noticed the 914s look amazingly similar to the 911s. They're held on by 3 nuts bolted on the side of the fan housing. Anyone had experience in transplanting heater motors from other species??
Give it a look and thought, and I'm willing to give it a go. Rob

Yes, I have done this before. The $15 914 heater motors have nearly the same identical motor as the SC ones. You might have to drill a few holes, but it should work fine!

That's a really interesting thought, take a look a let me know if they'll fit...I'm always open to something new, should be plenty of vw's with parts waiting for transplant. This is starting to go beyond inter-species transplants though...almost like Frankenstein (who also was German). LOL
