electrical demons

I have a great 85" Carrera that purs like kitten but... After long driving or hard driving my battery light will flicker slightly at idle. It doesn't last very long but you can feel it, slightly, in the engine. I replaced the battery 2 months ago and I fear there could be a repeat performance. It starts right up and the engine has never died on me.

Could this same problem be related to my tach having a mind of its own sometimes and my clock never keeping time?

Any feed back would be great.

check you voltage with a meter. you can get a cheap one at walmart for 10-15 bucks. 12.6 or so with the car off. 13.6 to 14.6 running.

If the (engine running) voltage at the battery terminals is weak, check that the grounding strap connections are clean and the belt tightness is correct. If they're fine and the battery is good, check out the alternator/voltage regulator.

One idea would be a common ground for the instrament lights being loose and the return backfeeding through the others. I'm not sure if you're vehicle has a printed circuit board, probably not.
Another idea is the car is running a tad rich/out of adjustment and the low idle is bliping the light.
There was a post similar to this quite some time back-mabye other 3.2s have similar situations.

I had a voltage problem with the transmission ground strap. It had rusted just enough to affect the voltage. It is on the bottom of the
transmission and is exposed to the elements. Mine cost $ 15.00 bucks
and my crazy tach, clock, and shift light problems went away!
