that big blob just above and a bit to the left of your circle looks strange.

it appears you've clean up the area with what maybe the crack, run it some & see if fresh oil emanates from there again.

That might be a casting mark and not a crack. I've seen others post fairly well recognized casting marks along the sides - but not from that area.

Opinion wanted regarding lines on crankcase

Is my case cracked ?

Is my case cracked?

The glob is covering a potential oil leak and there is another opposite behind the oil cooler needing a glob too.
No leak, just a casting mark

Well after a 50 mile drive it appears I have multiple leak sources (not a surprise) or at least multiple paths for same sources.

The red ovals show new dark oil. This is from the front of the engine tranny union and either from the trinity or the rear seal. I'm questioning the rear seal as these leaks have been around many miles and my clutch is still very good.

The green oval is fresh clean oil.
The blue and green ovals are similar in nature (fairly clean) though I'm having difficulty determining how they could be from the same source.

Any suggestions on how to determine the source so I might plug or fix them.
Sometime the tin metal for cooling in the last photo is wet with oil everywhere (now just close to the exhaust pipe bolt.

I've seen breather hoses leak causing the oil to gather in those places.

Mike, what oil do you have in it?

Before you start disassembling things, make sure it's not synthetic oil. Replace with old school 20/50 and drive it, then replace again.

My motor seeped. Then I used synthetic and it LEAKED....

Good luck...

oil comes from top most possibly. check large O-ring from thermostat on top in area of "trrinagle of death" (near breather hose)

My suggestion is to give engine a good wash and then when it is dry put it on a hoist and blow talc or plain plain flour over the bottom of the engine, start it up an watch from below.
