Question Which hub do I need?

Building a 914/6 conversion and piecing together my front suspension parts. I noticed that I have two different front hubs. I will be running > 1977 wheels, so I assume that the hubs with the larger diameter center are the ones to go with. Can anyone confirm? Looking to buy/sell/trade to get two hubs that are the same. Can anyone give me a tip?

Thanks in advance!

In my opinion you can use either one. The only difference is the the larger one is hub centric, meaning that the wheel is centered by the hub. Both have the same dimensions. The larger uses a smaller grease cap, it is held inside, the smaller one uses a larger grease cap which is held outside. All the hubs use the same bearings. Probably it is easier to find the ones with the larger diameter center.
Here you can see all the types of hubs that 911 use. You have 03 and 04. 04 is the larger one.
Can anyone confirm: front wheel hub depth '67 vs later
