relocate Carrera charcoal canister

I'm replacing the oil lines on an '86 Carrera from the thermostat back to the tank and engine crossover tube with the high clearance Elephant Racing lines. The factory charcoal canister is in the way. What is the best way to either backdate the canister to an earlier setup, relocate it or retrofit it with something from Summit/JEGS? PET shows that the SC used a different canister, but I can't tell where it was located in the car.

Not my car, but here is a pic from another thread of how the Elephant lines run:

Again, not my car, but a couple of pics from other threads with the stock canister. this thing is the size of a roll of paper towels:

My first thought was just mount to move it to the front trunk where I have more room.

Can you mount it inside the engine compartment like they are in an SC?

I wanted to look at that. I can't tell from PET where it is mounted on an SC.

Interesting....my 86 Carrera has no such canister in that location (or any of the other wheel well locations). Is that a California-only thing??

The slope is not slippery; in fact it is entirely frictionless.
