Turbo German Rocket Scientist poster

Was wondering if anybody knew where I could score a copy of this old advertising poster. The famous one with the airborne turbo and the quotation about ever wonder why most rocket scientists are German.

I work for NASA at the cape and just got a new 930S. It would be quite neat to have a copy framed and hanging in the garage.

Try searching here. This has come up before. I'm pretty sure some examples have been posted.

They were engineers not scientists.

Read this and the poster won't seem quite so cool:

Jim,

You are telling me nothing that I don't know. I am a student of WW2 history. I've been to Nordhausen....along with several other camps. Oberth was a scientist. If you want to go down this slippery slope you know you will have to sell your Porsches too.

Still looking for this very cool poster....

No, I'll go down the slope and and I'll keep my 911. Von Braun deserved to be hung and the people who brought him into this country (violating federal law) should have been in prison.

As you wish....Judge, jury and executioner.

I'm no big Von Braun fan in that his hands were not completely clean but had we had the evidence that warranted his hanging (and if you actually study the history there would be no certainty of a conviction IMHO) where would that have left us with the new threat on the block? We all know where the other half of those German scientists/engineers wound up. History, and war especially, isn't always sanitary unfortunately.

Anyway, this is about me finding a poster.......Sorry if it strikes a nerve with you.

save the file and take it to a photolab and print it at 12x18 inches. I have done a few at Costco. Turns out a let better than the scan looks.

"Sorry if it strikes a nerve with you."

Yeah it strikes a nerve: several great uncles came back from the fight against the Nazis in Italy broken men and other family perished in the camps. It wasn't worth our values as a country to harbor murderers in order to put a few clowns on the moon. General Medaris didn't need the Germans to build the ICBM force.
Association with German rocket "scientists" is nothing to be proud of. Finis.

My last word..

My father fought in Normandy so you don't own the market on family sacrifice (and especially on this Veterans day I appreciate them all).

While you can condemn Von Braun for being callous to the use of slave labor (and I do) in order to serve his dream, to call him a murder outright is incorrect.

It was a complex and difficult time. To try and apply morality in hindsight is a luxury we have today. I'm sure you know that Von Braun himself was jailed by the Gestapo in 1944 because they felt he was only interested in developing the A4 for space travel.

And finally, not all rocket pioneers and yes the men I speaking of (like Oberth) were scientists, fall under the cloud of Von Braun and slave labor.

Anyway, back to topic. Thanks Max I will give it a try.

Thanks to "max911" I got a high res image, printed it on a good plotter and just got it back from the frame shop today.

I had it printed to a 40" width. Length turned out to be around 27". Excellent resolution and color via the plotter at this size......

Here's a comparison with a new factory GT3 RS poster and a standalone. Hard to get a good picture with the lighting I had.

Von Braun? Sims is dead on...

""you can twist perceptions
reality won't budge
you can raise objections
I will be the judge
and the jury

I'll give it due reflection
watching from the fence
give the jury direction
based on the evidence
I, the jury """"""

Back to point:::: Very nice posters! Gonna have to order some!!!

Best,
