H4 Conversion headlights(primed, chrome or painted)

All,
I am switching out my headlights for the H4 upgrade and I was curious as to what you chose and why? I am going chrome with my Prussian Blue, would like to hear what you chose and why.

Did you go with the Chrome bezel for the bling factor and was afraid that whatever you painted the bezel with, it would never match the car ? The Black bezel because it's already painted and would compliment your exterior paint or last, Did you actually get the primed bezel and match the paint? Thanks

Pictures are always welcomed!

Regardless if you go chrome or the black H4 lights, you can (and probably should) get the trim ring if you want to paint it body colour. If you don't like the chrome this will fit over the edge and completely cover the shiny bits. Or if you feel like a chrome day, take it off.

Plus, it covers the aiming screws and makes for a clean looking installation. It attaches with one screw that threads into the centre of the headlight mounting screw. Mind you, I believe there are headlight mounting screws without the centre threads, so those are also required.

I know this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, but after much consideration I decided to go with H4’s dropped into my sugar scoops. No painting, way cheaper, same lighting as the full assembly, and stands out in a crowd of 911’s that have changed to H4 assemblies. I like the sugar scoop look too.

As far as the assemblies, I think chrome rings only look good on cars with shiny brightwork. Black looks great on darker cars or cars that aren’t really stock looking, and painted always looks good. Just my opinions. Can’t be too expensive to get those rings painted either.

I bought chrome, plus the primed trim covers matched to my chiffon white. Gives me options. Most of the time I leave the painted covers on, but sometimes I like to change it up and go chrome.

Did you have to do any modifications? It looks great! My understanding is that the H4 had to have the full kit and kaboodle if not I was not aware.....what year is your 911?

If you currently have sugar scoops and would just like to get the H4 drop-ins like above, all that is required is to purchase a couple 7" H4 lights and install them. That's it. A $100 dollar investment is all it takes to get some far better lighting. It's the Euro H4 lights that cost the big $$$.

Many people prefer the Euro H4s; I am in that camp. Mind you, mine is a Euro market car and came with the H4s, but I still usually prefer the look.

But there are some sugar scoop cars that just look right. This one looks pretty sweet to my eyes. Sugar scoops AND chrome...
