Fuel Pump for Webers

What is the best pump for Webers and where do most people locate it?

I use a $30 12 volt inline 1 to 5 psi ebay low pressure one for 2 years now with no problems and I have it in the same location as the stock one which would be up front under the pan is. I have a PMO adjustable regulator and keep it at 3.5 PSI.

One like the Facet pump? The small square one or the cylinder type?

Round rotary pump. 3.5# max. 912fpmp is one I like. Carter makes a nice rotary. The square ones are crap and noisy too.

I've been using this one for the last 9 months with no issues. I have it mounted up front on the cross-member under the front of the fuel tank. I did quite a bit of research and decided on this one due to the configuration of the input and output both facing the same direction. Made for a very clean install given where I wanted to mount it.

I do not use a fuel pressure regulator, just a couple of in-line filters.

I’ve had good luck on several cars with a low pressure Pierburg pump mounted by the steering rack. I’ve wired the pump through a switched relay so I can turn it off before shutting the engine off to try to minimize fuel percolation in the float bowls (let the engine idle a bit before shutting off to lower the fuel level in the flout bowls).

I prefer the Pierburg pumps over anything else unless using the PMO FPR with a Bosch CIS pump.

Avoid the little square Facet ones at all costs as they are really dreadful.

Ditto on the Carter rotary pump with 3.5# pressure. No need for a regulator, works well, dependable, made in U.S.A, cheap, and can be found at most auto parts stores.

Is this the Carter pump ?
P/N P60504 , I did not find a spec for the pressure in the Carter site. Somewhere else they say it can deliver max 4 psi.

Looks like it. Same as the 912fpmp (pierburg) which has studs and nuts instead of push ons.

Yup, that's the one I have on my car too. Come to think of it, John probably told me about them. I also added a pair of Mahle filters in the back, just before the Webers for good measure.

Gotta have pictures!
