opinions wanted
I bought a 1973 911T about ten years ago. It had mild to moderate rust and was spewing oil and would not run. In my infinite wisdom, I decided to "restore" this car and worked on it in my spare time for over a year. I rebuilt the engine from the ground up including new pistons and cylinders, bearings, valve guides etc. based largley on information from Bruce Andersons book. I wish this sight was an available resource back than as it would have saved me countless headaches. I cut out and welded in new metal for about half the car put the motor back in, started it and then it died, just couldn't get it to restart. The car hasn't been touched since. I am now in my mid thirties have my own house and garage and am constantly asked by very understanding parents if they can have their garage back. I noticed in this months Excellence, that a poor condition 73" T is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $8500, which is about three times what I paid for it. My question is, is this what it is really worth? Should I try to sell or consider a re-restoration.

Chris,
Tough call because your car sounds like it is better than rough condition, but pictures would help. I have seen bad "T" cars for around 4k. These cars are rust buckets, usually, in need of mechanical and interior work. In many cases, these cars are worth more in parts than they are in one piece. Post some pictures and I am sure the guys will chime in with some good advice. Marc |

I have the same model. Post some pics and we might be able to price it for you.
