Broadfoot racing is rebuilding the 3.0 in my cab (only 1 more SC to get it's 3.0 freshened after this one
). My question is, cams, I want to go with 964 cams since I'm keeping the CIS, but am adding SSIs. I have a pair of 993 cams that appear to have the same profile, same # on the shaft, 964 247, the only differance is where the threaded bolt goes has a 964# while the 993 cams have a 993# . I've called around asking about this but haven't had any luck getting an answer , hopefully a Pelican head can help me I also still need a 964 oil pump. TIA

If it helps, both the 964 and 993 all have the same # on that bolt 900 082 72 01

I have this info in my new book, but unfortunately, I don't have a copy of it handy right now. I believe that they are similar, but the 993 cams have a differnet method for timing, so you can't use them on the earlier cars (I believe - not 100% sure on this one...)
