Post Road Atlanta Nov.3-4

Anyone else going to the PCA drivers ed at Road Atl? Would be a good place to meet some fellow BBS'ers.

I'll be there. I understand the DE is already sold out.

I'll be the spectator with the ear-to-ear grin on my face.

Suppose we should all pick a time and place to hook up. . .any suggestions?

I just received confirmation that I made the cut! My first event so very excited. Also plan to attend the autocross this Sunday at Atlanta Speedway if the weather is good.

Mike,

Glad to hear you made the cut. See, going to the meeting did pay off, didn't it.

Guess all that shameless schmoozing paid off! Congrats! Looking forward to cheering you on. Got those new Recaro's yet?

Not sure the smoozing was the trick - seems only 11 "newbies" enrolled and typically they get in if arrived in time (and under the total limit). Recaros should arrive with 2 weeks - just in time for the event (keeping my fingers crossed!)

I'll give you guys a call when they do - got a few cold one's in the Kurt's pilsner glasses waiting on ya! Hope to talk Traci into to going also - at least Sunday am for the parade lap (would be nice to see her drive the Mustang around Road Atlanta). Let's hope the weather is dry.

Steve, good luck in Vegas!

hhmmmm, I havent heard it has sold out, but is usually does quick. As fas as 11 newbies,-- no way. They always take at least 30 cars in group 1. Mike, I'll be there, and be glad to take you around. It depends who they want me to ride with. I can check the student/instructor list and see who you're with, and swap if you want.

Marc - sounds good. I was told only 11 first timers enrolled while at the club meeting this month - I expect there will be more than that in group 1 also - prob some second timers to fill the pack.

Made it to the autocross today, a little late waiting for the streets to dry but still made it. First time for me and had a blast. Got some great instruction from another club member (after a wild ride in his Viper GTS, can't recall his name). My first 2 runs were best, took it smooth and made it thru every gate. Next 2 pushed the car to get feel of throttle lift effect and overly-aggressive cornering - obviously exceeded the limits of the Pirellis and spun. Great practice for the DE 11/3-4.

Heard there's a good chance for another autocross in November - hopefully at Turner Field, much closer. I know I'll be there.

Hi, guys. I'd like to go and be a spectator. Could you all give me the details? Would anyone like to meet up before and convoy with me? I'd be willing to drive up to Lawrenceville so I could follow one of you that knows how to get there. I'm in Roswell.

Just realized I know most of you, Mike, Mike, and Steve. Rattlesnak couldn't make it to "CarsNCoffee" that day so I still haven't met him. Maybe we could all hook up and go. Let me know.

Can you tell I've been busy this week?

I missed this post earlier. What day are you guys planning to go and watch? Mike (mm86911) and I hooked up to watch the last DE. It was a blast. I'd love to see his car on the track. I'd also like to swap stories with some of the rest of you.

Mike probably has the schedule by now. I assume he'll be in classrooms the morning of the 3rd. Maybe we should plan to get down there around 11am on the 3rd? I have to leave Chattanooga around 8am to make it by then. I could meet R22tech in Roswell around 10am and caravan.

Oh yeah, I'm going to bring a chair and a cooler of food and beverages. The snack bar closed at noon the last time. Does anyone have a decent camera with lens? My digital camera didn't work too hot last time. Here's a link to the pictures from July:

And here's a sample, Mike's car is on the right and mine is on the left:

Mike writ:

The AMS is much better than Turner. Turner has too many light poles and you never get any speed up.

I was lazy yesterday and did not want to drive in the rain... Probably should have gone out...

I believe the parade lap is on Sunday around noon. It aint DE but for those of us without coupes or rollbars, its our one chance to lap the track. I'm planning on going on Sunday as a result. May stop by Saturday if I can get a pass from the kids but Sunday is MINE. Fortunately, RA is close to home.

I heard that some strong contenders from Va will be there also (with some really nice cars). Would be great to meet up with fellow BBS'rs.

Best,

Ha! I know you're right...just gotta make it a priority. Look forward to hearing about last weekends auto-x. Call me when the seats come in. I'll be happy to come by and supervise while drinking your beer.

Let's get a group of us together for the next auto-x.

Mike M. - I hate the thought of Mike F. drinking alone, so when you're busy installing those seats, make sure you've called me to help supervise - and help Mike F. drink your beer!
I expect this should be at least a 3 beer job.....

Cool

I'll call you guys as soon as the seats arrive. No tap at the garage so Black & Tans won't be available - we'll have to resort to bottles. Hope you guys like Stella!

Sean-You're building a garage? Just a small shack for the p-car or a full blown 2-car, carriage house? I ask because I was thinking of building a seperate 3-car carriage house and would be interested on how your project goes.
