Woman driver on the Nurnbergring

Ever made jokes about women and cars ? Watch this video (105mb) of Sabine racing her M5 on the ring followed by a Gt3 with inboard camera.

Enjoy

Wow! Nice driving...especially that corner where she slid between the motorcycle and the other car. The GT3 occupants loved it too.

No bad intentions but, is it just me or does the BMW seem to be a little bit out of control? The movements seem twitchy and a bit aggresive.

you,re right Slider a bit yes. But i have driven there a few times not with my Porsche but with a vw golf and i can tell you it,s a scary track man ! the gt3 is not really holding back a lot i think, so i guess she is doing a pretty good job with her M5

That is a great video. I will never think of women drivers the same way again. Some ballsy moves she made. There must be a lot of slow bikers on the ring, unless the M5 and GT3 are really that quick.

If your wife or girlfriend ran the track better than you, would you feel less a man or insulted? I think it's kind-of sexy.

The track looked a little damp, the bikers might've been going slow for that reason. On the other hand, she did seem a bit erratic at times.

And yes, my wife can out-drive me. She beat me by a second on a 20-second Auto-X thingy we did with BMW.

When I was there, I got into a race with a woman in a Morgan Plus-8. She was a real looker and sported a silk helmet...WWI aviator style; Quite a sight

lets just say I didn't get the opportunity to meet her after the
lap.

I wish my wife could drive like that.

Video is fun to watch, but I think she's trying to prove herself too much...almost dangerous, I feel bad for the bikers on the track.

Axeman,

I agree with you, she did look as if she was trying to prove something. She had a tendency to get off the line quite a bit because of it.

If I was instructing someone (male or female) that made some of those moves, we would be having a little talk afterwards.

Just my .02

I think she was having fun. The BMWs are heavy, but incredibly forgiving. You can get away with stuff a 911 would never allow.

Very true, had I jerked my car like that I would have been spinning like a top......

How is BBII coming along, I am very interested in your buildup because I am in the process of building a 73 RSR Track/street car and I had quite a few of the same modifications planned that you have done.

Are you going to post all of your info and pictures on a web site in the future?

I wish we had a track like the RING here in the States but they would never allow such a GREAT set up.. to bad!

I haven't seen the video, but if Jack's opinion is correct I completely understand. I usually drive my 930 on the track, but when I got to drive my girlfriend's WRX, I certainly played a little with it. Man could you throw that thing into corners in a way that would leave the 930 doing 720s. Sure in the beginning of the day it made me a little off line. I didn't ever get anywhere close to other cars or pull stupid moves, I just had a little fun. However one of the instructors was kind enough to tell me of my wrong doing. Did I clean up my act later (not because of the instructor, but because I wanted to see what it could do), and pull faster lap times because of it? Of course. Did I regret playing a little and not squeezing every second out of the car? no. If you don't put anyone in danger, I don't think it's wrong, just maybe bad technique. (although it seems the lady in the bimmer did some scary stuff with the bikes which I wouldn't condone).

Not in the State's Eric, but Mosport is a comparable experience. You can drive there from Ohio, too. You'll love it!

The M5 is a "Ring Taxi". It's supposed to deliver "action"

Imagine a driving error from one of the motorcycles in front. Whoops sorry....and under the car he goes Actually quite dangerous.
