How do I connect this housing?

Need help getting this 12 pin lower housing to clip into the metal bracket? I can fit the figure 8 piece into the middle, but have no idea how to "clip" it in so that it holds on the ends? 82 SC. Advice appreciated.

Hi Ivan. Thanks, that's what I thought too but the issue is that if I slide it either direction (forward or back) the flexible end tabs underneath don't clip or catch on anything so while you can't pull the housing up once you slide it, it isn't secured properly by means of the little tabs underneath?

If tabs are weak run a black zip tie around it after it’s plugged in.

Or buy the connector new from Porsche if still available and install it. More work.

hmm? i cannot tell if there is something wrong with the base of the connector..but the general idea is as you are doing it...if it does not clip in .either get new base or do not worry too much about it,once you connect the engine harness end it does not go anywhere....it will just sit there..

Don’t leave it to vibrate around. Secure it.

Thanks guys. It's actually a new connector so it should work properly. I'll mess around with it a bit to see if I can get it to clip. Maybe my metal base is a little tweaked. Worst case I'll zip tie it to make sure it is totally secure and won't vibrate. It would be great if someone had a pic of how it clips underneath.

if it is new , i think you can make it push and slide forward...
Here is one identical on your seats...on pic on left..btw where are your wires?
