1/8th inch space source?
anyone know where I can buy a set?
thanks Jim |
NASA?
OH - - WHEEL spacers... Pelican sells spacers. If they don't have your size, try Perf Products... |
1/8 inch? Try PepBoys.

Why not some Flat Washers between the wheel and the hub ??

Richard,
I was thinking the same thing. I read the post, looked at what 1/8 inch looks like but made a suggestion anyway. In all honesty, though, 1/8in may make a difference up front..... ------------------ Josh '84 Carrera Coupe |
OK, OK, OK 1/8th inch Spacers,
The reason I need them is I am running 1988 930 rear calipers and rotors on 1988 Carrera banana arms. The calipers have been modified to fit and I need to get about 1/8th of an inch clearance so my Fuchs clear the calipers. I don't want to widen my track, but I need about an 1/8th of an inch spaced out. My other alternative is to shave off a bit on the calipers, but I would rather use a spacer. So there is method in my madness....I have tired Pep Boys, and Perf, everyone has 1/4 inch as the smallest. Jim [This message has been edited by addictionMS (edited 10-31-2001).] |
It makes sense to me. I used two 1/8-inch spacers on each front wheel, and I machined down the calipers in the rear.
Dave Bouzaglou at TRE Automotive in Los Angeles has them. You can call him at 818 509 0257. What are you doing about the fronts? ------------------ Jack Olsen My Rennlist page • My Pelican Gallery page • My Porsche Owners Gallery page |
I have a full 1988 930 front end, and decided not to put on the turbo banana arms, because I did not want to incur the expense of going to coilovers. All my local experts told me I could stay with Carrera arms and not lose a lot. so that is what I did.

I have a set in my basement. I took them off my brothers 87 coupe. They measure 5/16. If you are interested let me know. I have no use for them. You will need to extend your wheel studs to use these, with them on the maximum turns you can get with a lug nut is 5. Generally, you want at least 9 turns.
