Rear Window wiring

I was installing a new seal to the rear window of my 1988 Carrera and was reviewing a number of previous posts and thought I'd add a few points. I've done the job before, but it was many years ago. I'm not sure if I was shipped non-OEM rubber, but it seems the new rubber is not designed as well as the original and tends to roll and crease in the corners. I can't report how well it will correct itself until I finish the install. The seal was definitely MUCH harder to put on then what I remember in the past.

Just a quick helpful hint for others to use a Punch tool to cut holes for the wires. Second, have a few inner tubes handy to keep the rubber in place as one works the rubber onto the glass. Dunking the rubber in very hot, soapy water helps too.

Wiring diagram is from another post.
