exhaust smell
What would bring exhaust smell/fumes into the cabin with windows closed? '69 912 body with a 3.2l motor.

If the heat is on I get just a tad sometimes when I come to a stop. I think the cooling fan brings it in to the compartment then over the exchangers and into the car. That’s all I’ve ever experienced and it’s spurious.

A leak in the exhaust that dumps into the heat exchanger. Carbon monoxide is dangerous, so you'll need to address that right away.
