Rear sway bar drop link question
I replaced the bushing on the rear drop link that attaches to the ball joint on my '76 911 because it deteriorated and became unattached. I was hoping a fellow pelicaner would have a suggestion on how to reattach the drop link to the ball joint since I can't get them to match up when sitting on the ground.
Thanks http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1515518480.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1515518480.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1515518480.JPG |
I usually attach the control arm side first then swing up the sway and bolt it on.
Is it me or is the drop link twisted up? |
Per Jim’s suggestion, it’s easier to attach the ball end first. A C-clamp or equivalent might make the install easier.
Try loosening the sway bar from the chassis mounts to provide more wiggle room to slide the lower drop link arm onto the sway bar. If you discover the sway bar is under excessive preload when normally installed, the LR and RR ride heights may be off. The front corner ride heights are also additional factors. Sherwood |
Thanks Sherwood, I will try that.
Is there a specific ride height that I should be aware of? |
