Relay Identification?

Hi

My first post, so Hello from Surrey UK. I've had a RHD 1987 black Carrera Targa for just under 2 years, my daily car but also work in progress with 167000 miles on it.

I was just trying to get the intensive screen wash working (it never has) since the windscreen (-shield!) washer pump broke and I'm awaiting a new one. I need a screen washer for a long drive tomorrow in UK winter weather.

The intensive pump relay "clicks" but no power arrives at the pump. I've given up trying for today but as a temporary fix have connected the intensive pump to the main washer circuit using two jump wires. That will do for now (the next few years anyway!).

I noticed the circled relay in front of the intensive pump relay (we're looking at the back of the clock here - RHD car) and have no idea what it's for. The relay mount looks like an original item (circular, 4 sockets) but, as you can see what looks like a non-standard relay has been fitted. It only has 3 connectors/spade terminals i.e. One socket is not connected to anything. As everything else on the car (apart from windscreen washers!) works, I'm intruiged to know what it's for.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks guys, great forum, you've saved the day a few times.

Angus

Thanks Todd, and as the flasher works I guess the 3 pins are correct.

I appreciate the quick answer.
