Reversed the Wipers

Long awaited Sunday morning project. Finally decided to dive in and move those wipers to the passenger side. Definetely some steps left out of the 101 and tech article but basically the same. For anyone who doesn't plan on driving in the rain it's a great way to increase visability.

I drive in lots of rain, I have my wipers switched. I don't understand that statement. My wipers work really well.

I've adjusted the travel and reset the wipers on the arms so they rest completely flush with the windshield molding. This causes them to not completely clear the bottom of the drivers side of the windshield when on. It's not bad, it's just not optimal for clearing the rain. My choice was to have them out of the way but available when needed.

i agree with JG, i did this a while ago. it also opens up about 2" of vision at the bottom of the windshield on the drivers side.

Mine too

I am a short person and really liked the way the early cars parked the wipers on the passanger side.

I flipped mine over to the passanger side and then went to Type 911 a parts supplier in England for a pair of right hand drive wiper arms.

JG...

Your enthusiam sounds like it's in the right place. I really think it's much easier to remove the wipers (less weight) and keep them in the trunk with correct socket ( 10mm ?) for quick install...

I believe the drag coofficient of the wipers was like 00.006

Great, I want to park my wipers either on the other side or vertical - how do you do this.

My car is rhd (71 2.2T)

Steve take a look here

You just might have to improvise a little.
