Turn Signal Problem
Need a bit of advice. I drive a 88 model Carrera 3.2 Cabrio, and as of this morning the turn signals won't come on when I flicked the turn signal stick, both left and right don't work. I then engaged the hazard light switch, and from the inside of the car it seems to be working ok (clicking sound, as well as both indicators on the dial are flashing).
When I walked around the car, it seems that only the turn signals on the LHS is working, but it seems to not be as bright as normal. On closer inspection, the RHS is flashig as well, but it's so dull that unless to put your head right next to the light before you could see the bulb's flash. Do you think that this might be a simple relay fault, or it is something more tricky like faulty wiring? Thanks in advance. |

Sounds like you need to start by pulling all bulbs and cleaning the bulb sockets to make sure you've got a good contact. Try switching the bulbs from one side to the other and see if one side is still dim. I had similar problems when I bought my car and after a good cleaning of the sockets all was well again.
Might not fix the problem but it shouldn't hurt to clean it up. Good luck, Jeff |
