heater control cable repair

hey guys,

ive been having lots of trouble with my heater controls on my 82 911 sc.

I believe its the cables that keep crapping out and not operating the control boxes correctly so I'm looking at replacing the cables.

anyone know the right part for them.

are they two separate items? the guide and wire? at the moment they look like a black guide with a single wire in them

I also replaced them on my 1982 911. The car sat a great deal and seized the cables. I also rebuilt the control boxes which also was contributing to the non functioning system. When I replaced the cables and both cable guides that exit from the firewall and connect into the clamp at the control boxes. When reinstalled the cables were greased and stainless hardware at the control boxes and new cable clamps.
If you remove the control boxes, be extremely careful removing the nuts, try not to break the studs.
A few pictures of my control boxes before and after I refinished them

Yes the cable guides are separate, new ones were more translucent in color. When you disconnect your cables at the clamp at the control boxes, make sure your flapper on the control box moves easily. If no, you will need to address them.
