Bent chrome window frame on SWB. Is this possible?
 

Not a single thing on my car has given me the headaches this damn frame has. The Frame is as low as possible in the door, also, I have adjusted the door so it's as low and as far back and possible.

The shape seems to be off and causing the issues. If I clamp the rear of the window frame against the rear quarter window upright and force a bend, that seems to get the frame to normal shape and perfect fitment.. But of course on release it just pops back.

Left side is beautiful, but days later I'm still nowhere with the right. Could it be the frame bent when it was re-plated? Anyone had this before?

SWB window frames, as you know, are chromed over brass. Here is a picture of a SWB frame which has longer "legs" than the later aluminum frames.

It may be possible to remove the frame and bend the legs or torque the frame so the forward adjustment clears the A-pillar. The key is to work slowly and make small adjustments.

Thanks @ossieblue. Yes thinking about making a jig. It looks like 1cm of rearward adjustment will solve it. Either that or buying another frame. Argh

I suggest you make a cardboard template fom your drivers side of the shape of the frame, flip it, and compare it to your passenger side. From your photo it looks like the shape may not match the vent wing, but could just be an optical illusion .

One thing I just noticed on the OP's photo. I see what appears to be "ding" about 1/3 of the way down from the hinge on the front vent window frame. Notice how the reflection in the chrome is distorted at that spot. Could that be evidence of damage that caused the front of the frame to be misaligned? Can't tell from the picture, but maybe the OP can inspect that area and report back.

There is actually a ding but it's concealed under the door. That's what first got me thinking about the shape...
