Which cable???
I have a 72 with an Aluminum trans. It has a "rigged/fab'd" cable bracket to allow the earlier cable to sort of work. It won't reach back to the aluminum notch on the later transmission.
The car came with a Mag 915 and was switched over to Al. Do I just buy a cable for say an SC or midyear to get the proper length and ends? I know this seems easy, but when you live in BFE there isn't much to compare. TIA

Come on guys, no help??? I would like to correct the cable issue. Can I buy a later model cable to correctly fit the later transmission? With all the basterdized cars here, surely someone knows the answer.
Is there anything else that you can think of to convert the cable assembly over to be correct? Bump!

I have a '72 with a later aluminum 915 and had the same fabrication done and I'm still using the early cable. so I don't know what to tell ya. Good luck though. You could always try a later style cable and if it doesn't work then return it. thats the best advice I can give. Good luck!!!
