Any picts with < 89 cars with round valence fog lights?
Thinking of going with some round ones mounted in the lower valence instead of the factory rectangle. Wonder what they look like if anyone has done this.
TIA, Scott

Here is what I have done with mine...
![]() I personally don't like the rectangular lights on a beautiful rounded car. To make the projector (or any other) lights really work aesthetically I think you would need fab up a fairing to fit between the rectangular hole and the round lights. If you were really slick you could make it also act as an air duct for the brakes. I originally was intending to do this but the project ran out of steam. If (when) I stick my nose back in this project my direction is going to be a RUF Yellowbird styled valance using the oval Hella FreeForm lights mounted in a custom opening that will also act as the brake ducts. The smaller Hella FreeForm ovals will fit the stock rectangular valance hole and I think they would look very nice with a clean fairing to integrate it into the body. (You would have to create a custom mounting bracket because their bracket is too big for the available area.)

How did you mount those big round ones? I have been looking for a way to temporarily mount big powerful lights for those 1000+mi night trips through moose country.

The big ones are KC Highlites Slimlights. (Cheap at JC Whitney) They are mounted to a 1-1/4"x1/4" flat bar stock that is welded to another section of the same stock so it forms kind of a Z bend. It bolts to the side of the main tub with 2 bolts and the outer offset part extends through the stock foglight hole. You can remove them and no one will know that they were ever there. You have to use a very thin light because of how low they are. The bumper extends out further then the light, and if you scrape the ground the lights will rotate to avoid breaking. You also have to drill a new drain hole at the bottom of the light housings as they were intended to be mounted at the bottom. They throw out a bunch of light but they would work better if they were mounted higher. If I was running moose country I would probably rig up something that was above the bumper. It had occurred to me that you could build a light mount bar that would attach to each of the headlight rings. That could make it easy to remove. (Have to work out the whole hood opening thing...)

Not exactly what you meant but I think round lights recessed with a flush plexiglass cover would allow you to get a decent reflector and size and not have it stick out on the outer lower edge.
