In the progress of installing a new ambient air valve (n0. 31), new hoses and a new bracket (no. 32).
Can somebody please tell me the partnumber(s) of the nut/washer to mount the bracket...can't find it in PET. Thanks, Kees ![]() ![]() |

On an 88, it goes on the upper rear oil tank mounting stud. Slide it on before attaching the nut. I'm assuming same for 84-86.

Unfortunately it's not for a '85. There's some kind of welded bolt on the right side near the oil filler neck.
I thought it was a M8 nylock nut, but it isn't. When I am at home I will take a picture. Thanks! |

That sure looks to me like one of the oil tank mounting studs. Same washer. It should take an M8 nut. Not sure why it doesn't. Are the threads maybe messed up on the end?

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply. You are right; it does take a M8 nut. But there is one thing I don't understand. The original nut needed a 14 mm socket, the new M8 (Porsche) nut a 13 mm socket. Inner diameter is the same, but the original nut is bigger (see pic). ![]() ![]() Kees. |

That I'm not sure about. But I suspect either should work!

Thanks John,
All is clear now. You were absolutely right on the oil tank mounting studs. Didn't understand it at first (English is not my native language), but now I see what you meant. Searched in PET for the oil tank and found the partnumber for the nut. It's a M8 nut, but it takes a 14 mm socket. Thank you very much. ![]() Kees. |
