Fuel line fitting issue with factory provided fuel line
Hi all,
I’m just replaced the fuel return line in my 911sc. Sadly, after installing it I found out the fitting on the new line does not fit the cis fuel line it needs to connect to. The new fuel line has a flexible hose with an AN fitting on it. Has anyone run into this? Is there an adapter? Does anyone know the thread sizes here? Help please and thank you! |

![]() ![]() This issue has been known about for years, yet Porsche still does not advise their parts dep'ts or customers about this. You most likely have been sent a Tunnel Line with a M14 Male Euro Flare instead of one with the correct M14 Male cone. ![]() The one on the Right is the early SC style Male Cone, up to 1979. The one on the Left is from 1980 on through the 3.2 Carrera 1989 and is a Male Euro Flare. Return this and order one for any year 930 though 1989, or I can provide this for you. My Tunnel Lines are exactly the same Polyamide tube as the original, except I provide a front fitting that allows the Front hoses to be replaced if ever needed. The originals have their front hoses permanently crimped requiring complete replacement. I also ship a M14 Female coupler at N/C that allows you to pull your old Tunnel Line out as you pull the new replacement in. This saves a lot of costly mechanics time. Lots of info on this throughout the Pelican community, or email me at: Len.Cummings at verizon.net ![]() |

I had the same issue. Ended up ordering a line from Len and installing all over again.

![]() ![]() I read this once again and see you have already installed your new Tunnel Line, so now you need a custom rear hose. I can make one up for you with a M14 Female Euro Flare fitting (This is not AN threads) as well as the M14 Female 180 at the Fuel Accumulator..... ![]() This photo shows just what you have now, but I will add the M14 Female Euro Flare to this in place of the M14 Female fitting you see in the photo. I have been making custom Metric Hoses for most Porsche models since 1978 and they are considered "Factory Level" or higher by most who know my products. All are E-85 Rated. Len ![]() |

Good news,
A local shop was able to help me by creating this part. This will go between the new fuel return line and the CIS system. I will eliminate the small coiled snake shaped line with this Euro 14mm metric concave on both ends. If I'm not mistaken, left and right are misstated above in the second comment, correct? ![]() |

Just to clarify, I was sent a return like that came with a 8 inch flexible hose on it with a female 14MM metric fitting at the end. This has been stressful, but hope to have this solved this evening.

![]() ![]() Just came across this again and perhaps this can be clarified for the next time this happens. From your description, you were sent a Carrera 3.2 Rear Return Hardline that has a short hose and M14 Female fitting at the end..... ![]() The M14 Male Cone fitting on the RIGHT of my first photo is what you needed and apparently received from your local shop. Have a great Porsche day. Len ![]() |

![]() ![]() Back to basics: Male fittings have EXTERNAL threads, Female Fittings have INTERNAL threads. Len ![]() |

![]() ![]() Bump to top for anyone who needs custom Metric Fittings. I have just about any Metric fitting needed for a 911, and even a few we cannot buy worldwide and must machine locally. Best to reach me is email: len.cummings @ verizon.net but without the spaces. No pms, box is full. Len ![]() |
