APB - I知 Stuck - Rear Brake Job today

How do you get the bottom 19mm bolt off the caliper, so I can remove the caliper and change the rotor? Top one is easy to get a wrench on. I dont seem to own a wrench to get to the lower bolt? Pelican tech article had this question asked, and no one answered, searched here, youtube, etc....nada. I am sure there is a trick. It’s on my ‘75 911 widebody.

More fiddling and I answered my question. I needed a 3/8 drive short 19mm socket and a thin headed socket wrench....then tap with a hammer to break free. Let’s hope there is no more to come here today.

just seeing this - yeah, one of the suckiest bolts to work on - I think there should be a badge or major karmic reward in your future.

Well I got the brakes all done today. I took a ton of pics (including how to get to this bolt) with the hopes of doing a “how to” thread. I will see if I can get it written tomorrow.

Where does everyone host their pictures to post? I have been a PBase user for ages...but they are getting a little long in the tooth. Pondering a change.

Yep,

Long handle box 19 to break loose and then open end with a lot of turns . . .
But, if you leave the top bolt tight you might be able to finger out the bottom
after a few turns of the box . . .

Regards,
