Manual window spring pivot pin question
I am trying to fix the regulator on my 70T drivers door. I have read numerous threads, spoke to our host about the pins they offer and I am still having difficultly determining which part I need. I do not have the original pin and would like to avoid pulling the other regulator.
The broken pin in question in the one located in the center of the spring. It looks to have been originally brazed on. Our host sell replacement pins but if is difficult to know which one to order. Parallel or perpendicular slot? 26 or 23mm? The photo on the order page shows a small screw but no washer or other means to hold the pin in place after it passes through the arm. Any information would be greatly appreciated. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1519195601.jpg |

I am dealing with the same thing, on my passenger side regulator. I need to remove it from the regulator to get a good look at it. I wish I could be of more help. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1519318102.jpg |
Hi Chris-
What year is your 911? If can try measure whats left of the broken pin. 23 or 26mm I have read that the pivot on the center of the spring is 26mm. When you remove the regulator look to see if the slot on front where the spring goes is parallel to the notch in the back or perpendicular. |
It’s a 76.
I had it out a few months ago, but forgot whether it was parr or perp. I’ll also measure it. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to it for a couple or more weeks |
Have an extra if anyone wants it

Hey, what year is that for, and which side: passenger or driver?

Hi Chirs-
This information came form a pelican named Paul who was selling nice refurbished regulators. "85% of early manual regs were parallel and 24 or 26 mm in length. You need to check what you have to know.PEL-910391 is most often used.No factory pins were ever brazed. All original were pressed in and mushroomed over to hold in.Grind down flush or drill out and remove old pin, install new one and TIG weld the end.Later,Paul. Guess new pins need to welded in, funny in some of the photos our host displays a small screw on one side of the pin in the product photos?? Unfortunately I don't have access to the original pin and was trying to avoid pulling the other regulator as its functioning well. Strange to me the rocket science involved. The parts configulator says both parallel parts 23 and 26mm are a fit for my 70T. ???? Not sure the 3 mm will make a difference. |
