Hello Pelicans,
I am hoping someone can recommend a quality shop/person near the Portland, Oregon area for seat restoration. I am interested in having the foam re-done, and possibly new leather. TIA. ![]() |

Just had mine done by Ross Upholstery in Oregon City. They did a great job - just replaced the butts of the seats and rebuilt the foam core. I'm really happy!

No problem BuddaLun, it wasn't cheap, but it was a lot less expensive than total recovering. You can tell a difference in the old and new leather - not because of color but because of wear. The old leather is shiny from 37 years of use, the new is kind of dull. But, it's much more comfortable and my guess is I never have to do anything to them again. Let me know how it goes for you.

You can buy the seat covers from Classic 9 Interiors and have a local guy install them. They come out just like original. Leather or vinyl.

My go to person is Rick’s in Multnomah Village.
Guy’s Interior Restorations has done a lot of work for the P car crowd as well.

69Porsche they only replaced the 3 panels that you sit on. The upright parts, side panels, backs, everything else are still original - it just looks a bit different in the pictures. Merle ordered the leather in the original color and sewed the three pieces on each seat after rebuilding the foam core. I don't think he even had to dye it to match. Like I said, other than the texture (not as smooth) and the sheen (not as shiny) you would never know anything had been replaced.

I had him use the TMI kits (covers and foam) to cover my bus front seats. He had to make some modifications to get them to fit. Very pleased with result.
I have been there while he is doing all kinds of stuff. One guy shop. Best to stop by, check him out. ![]() ![]()

FWIW, the covers on my Bus middle and rear seats were in rough shape but I did not want to spend a bunch of money to recover. I went to Cabella's and got some general purpose covers. Since they were for a middle bench seat which wase wider than mine they did not fit. I Rick shorten it to fit. The cover as sold looks like this one on my rear seat: ![]() He shortened the middle on and it came out like this: ![]()
