Engine oil flushing
What do you think about doing periodic oil flushes? Using a product like Liqui Moly Oil Flush:

Back in the day, prior to the early 1970's, even with regular oil changes, motors would fill up with sludge & crud. I've seen some really cringe-worth innards with habitual use of non-detergent oils and old leaded gas. Now you can find neither.
Modern oils typically can be run 7500-10,000 miles and engines remain extremely clean inside. I believe the "engine oil flush" has long since been relegated to "snake oil" status. |

I would only use it if you are sure you have an issue.
I used something like that back in the late 80's. I dropped a greasey part in the oil after I removed it. when I got it out it was spotless. the stuff (back then) really took the grease off. in fact, I used that "dirty oil" for a parts cleaner that day. I just ran some through my new to me dodge Dakota but only because they are known to have sludge issues. after, I put in cheap oil and drove it for a few days then drained it again and put in synthetic. this would be quite expensive on a 911.

I have never seen any sign of sludge in my 1979. Not when doing valve adjustments or even when replacing the oil sump screen. I don’t think it’s an issue.
Come to think of it, don’t think I’ve ever seen sludge in any 911 engine tear down photos online either. Mark
